Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer
Born in 1998, Denis developed a passion for sport from an early age. After playing football and swimming throughout childhood, he later discovered strength training and calisthenics during his teenage years; activities that he continues to enjoy in his free time. This lifelong passion inspired him to pursue a career focused on understanding human movement and helping people recover through rehabilitation.
In 2020, Denis graduated with honours in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the University of Milan (Italy). He then completed, again with honours, his degree in physical therapy at the same university, with the aim of combining expertise in human performance with clinical and rehabilitation practice. During his academic training, Denis focused on injury burden in professional football, a project that culminated in the publication of his thesis in an international peer-reviewed scientific journal.
In 2023, he joined FC Sion (Valais, Switzerland), where he worked with both the Under-21 and First Team. During his first season, he contributed to the club's Challenge League title and promotion to the Swiss Super League, gaining valuable experience in the daily management of elite athletes, injury rehabilitation, and return-to-play processes within a high-level multidisciplinary medical and performance team. This international experience also allowed him to develop professional proficiency in French, which he used daily when communicating with athletes and staff.
The daily interaction with elite athletes and professionals from different fields enabled him to further strengthen not only his clinical and rehabilitation skills, but also his understanding of the importance of communication, teamwork, and building a trusting relationship with each individual.
Today, Denis mainly works in musculoskeletal and sports physical therapy, supporting both athletes and patients throughout their rehabilitation journey and return to activities. His approach combines evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning and person-centered care to deliver tailored rehabilitation programs that help each patient confidently return to the activities that matter most to them.
Believing that professional growth is driven by continuous learning and collaboration, Denis dedicates part of his time to ongoing education and the exchange of knowledge with fellow healthcare professionals. Outside of work, he continues to cultivate his passion for sport and physical activity.
He joined the Sports Rehab team in summer 2026.
Nothing is too wonderful to be true, if it be consistent with the laws of nature.
